Smarts Quarter Development Updates
In particular, we have plenty to update you with in regards to the development of Smarts Quarter. To start we have now completed most of the blockwork, the final floor is being finished at the moment. For those of us who don’t have a problem with heights, the view from the scaffolding shows of the amazing Bedminster landscape and hills around Bristol. That will be the view for those of you who choose one of our third floor apartments, after all who doesn’t love a great view.
For the Horton Street Elevation segment of Smarts Quarter the roofs are being put on now. And to continue with our green and sustainable aims for Smarts Quarter the roofs are all being covered with natural materials and are divided into areas of slate and clay tiles which will make the building look like separate properties. As we have been very much inspired by the history of the area and land that our apartments are being constructed on the choice of using slate and clay will actually echo the properties that used to be in the exact location. Over the next couple of weeks all the roofing will be on and we will be able to start to render the building so that will be the point when the building really starts to take shape as a landmark development on the corner of Midland Road and Old Market Street.
Obviously an apartment which feels dark and claustrophobic is a complete turn off for any house hunter which is why we are so pleased that now that the sliding sash windows on the front, and casement windows on the back are now starting to go in it is amazing to see just how much light they generate even with un-plastered walls. Even though the rooms aren’t complete the feel is already very spacious, open and light, a must have combination for many house hunters out there.
Moving to the interior, the studwork, plumbing and electrical works have all been started on the ground floor apartments. The layout of each apartment is actually beginning to take shape now which is lovely to see and you can see the living spaces in all the ground floor properties. With under floor heating being installed in all properties this means that there is no requirement for radiators, thus increasing the wall space as well as making heating bills more economical for the future residents.
Finally progress is going so well we have now completed the secure stores and bike storage in the underground parking area.
Exciting News for Green Spinnaker and Smarts Quarter
We are pleased to announce that we have just received planning permission to turn plot 13 from a one bed into a two bed apartment. The floor plans for this Montpelier apartment are currently being drawn up and will be available to check out on our website very soon. With the addition of another bedroom and the wonderful views of the city we expect this apartment will be very sought after so if you are interested in a brand new, luxury 2 bed apartment make sure you register your interest before it gets snapped up!
