The NHBC works with builders, home owners and housing associations to ensure that the correct standards are set for new home construction and to protect the owners.

Bearing their expertise and standards in mind, when it comes to buying and moving into a new home, the NHBC will be near the top of your list if you need a HUG, or in other words a Home User Guide.

Smarts Quarter is now Complete!

For the team here at Green Spinnaker, Smarts Quarter was our first development, and what an amazing first development it has been. With all the apartments sold and the construction now complete we are looking forward to seeing the new owners moving into their homes very soon.

In just under a year we have gone from a bare, muddy plot to a collection of thirteen luxury apartments and maisonettes. Built and fitted to our high specifications we hope to see the new residents enjoying their new homes for many years to come.

Growing Green at Smarts Quarter

The time has come to get down and dirty in the mud, introducing our brand new communal courtyard garden! Get your gloves and shovels at the ready as we bring you that fresh spring feeling, in September! The gorgeous variety of sweet smelling flowers with the back drop of the European Green Capital will keep our Smarts Quarter residents feeling fresh and fruity all year round.

For those of you who don’t know, Bristol is very proud to be the UK’s first cycling city and the ‘Green Capital’ for 2015! With a growing status as the most bike-friendly destination, we feel that our eco-friendly garden will blend in incredibly well. This Green City is plastered with bike routes, open spaces and eco-friendly campaigns – we are sure our home owners will have plenty to do on top of enjoying our specially designed eco garden!

The garden is set to be situated centrally in the grounds of Smarts Quarter so all of our residents will have access to it. It is strategically structured so the landscape will attract beautiful bugs, bees and butterflies as well as being visually pleasing to everyone in Smarts Quarter.

Feeling inspired by what will soon be a beautiful natural space for the Smarts Quarter residents to enjoy, we wanted to share with you our plans for the garden as well as see if we can inspire you to make an eco-friendly garden of your own.

It feels like just yesterday we first broke ground on our opening development as Green Spinnaker. How time has flown! We are on the brink of completion, with just interior fixings to finish, ready to welcome the brand new owners who will move in later this year.

February seems to have been and gone in a flash, probably because we have been super busy here at Green Spinnaker pushing the development forward, which means we have plenty to update you with.

Smarts Quarter Development Updates

In particular, we have plenty to update you with in regards to the development of Smarts Quarter. To start we have now completed most of the blockwork, the final floor is being finished at the moment. For those of us who don’t have a problem with heights, the view from the scaffolding shows of the amazing Bedminster landscape and hills around Bristol. That will be the view for those of you who choose one of our third floor apartments, after all who doesn’t love a great view.

Bristol the Green Capital

Along with many other people we are proud of the recent announcement that Bristol has won the title of European Green Capital. With all things green being increasingly important all over the world, people will be watching Bristol throughout the year to see what the city has in store, and as the first UK winner of the award there’s no pressure!

At the launch of Bristol as the Green Capital, Tony Juniper who is an ambassador of Bristol 2015 was quoted saying “In 2015, Bristol has the chance to play a leading role on the world stage by showing how it is not only possible but highly desirable to close the ‘green gap’. I am looking forward to Bristol providing the kind of inspiration needed to shape a different future than the one we are presently heading toward.” The concept of the ‘green gap’ is at the forefront of Bristol 2015 which focuses on the difference between our green intentions and our actions, Bristol has the opportunity to make the UK proud and really show what can and should be done to ‘Bridge the Gap’ to a more green and sustainable world.

With this being the case we wanted to look deeper into what green projects Bristol is currently doing or has planned; as well as how Smarts Quarter has added to Bristol’s green name.

Latest News from the Smarts Quarter Development

Extra! Extra! Read all about the latest news about the Smarts Quarter development in Bristol.

So much has happened since our last update and we are so excited about the great progress we are making, with the build still on schedule. As you will be able to see from our new video we are now up to the second or three floors. The walls have been marked out which allows us to see just how spacious the rooms are going to be and the large sash windows will bring plenty of light and an airy feel to the properties as well as giving some fantastic views of Barton Hill to the south east. We have to say the development is really starting to come together now.

The news is hot off the press, our Smarts Quarter development of stylish, contemporary apartments in St Philips, Bristol is moving along so well that our first 3 properties have been made available today!

The Exciting Future in store for Smarts Quarter, Bristol

Our development of brand new luxury apartments and maisonettes in St Philips, Bristol is well on its way now so we thought it was time to tell you more about our progress so far and what is in store for Smarts Quarter and its future residents.

We have already completed two phases of the development, the lower basement and car park. So you will be happy to know that your vehicles have somewhere to live but what about you? Work has now started on the ground floor Clifton, Henleaze, Whiteladies and Cabot properties.

Why Smarts Quarter?

When looking for a site for our first development at Green Spinnaker we wanted to find something truly special where we could build a selection of great, contemporary new homes in Bristol

A large factor in our final decision was the history that we found out about the site and the surrounding area. It was fantastic to find out how the plot had been developed over the past three centuries and we even found some exciting family links to the area. The Smarts Quarter development has become really special to our team through discovering all its history which is why we wanted to share it.
